Long Branch Chef Appearing on Tuesday’s ‘Chopped’

Long Branch chef Chris Burnett's rise in the culinary world didn't come easy.

Chris grew up in a tough area of NJ, lost his mother when he was 11, and even served time in jail. Still, his passion for cooking never waivered. He went back to school and trained at the culinary program offered by the Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

From there, Chris went on to cook at Sickles Market in Little Silver, Brick House Tavern + Tap in Tinton Falls and Otto's Bar & Grill in Ocean Township, among others.

Now he owns his own catering company, Handsome Creations Catering.

Next stop, Chopped. Chris took part in the reality food competition back in August. His episode will air Tuesday, January 10 at 10 p.m. on Food Network. The name of the episode is "Whiskey & Wings," which bodes well for the 37-year-old chef who prides himself on his buffalo wing recipe.
