This was the ultimate better late than never. I baked my wife a birthday cake. That's pretty romantic right?

Sure it's romantic, if it's not 10 days late. But the cake I baked was exactly that. Just about a week and a half late. There were definitely extenuating circumstances, but I'm not here to make excuses.

I'm here to tell you all about the cake I baked for my wife. Well. actually to be more accurate, we baked. Diane is smart enough to know that a birthday cake wasn't worth permanent damage or hours of additional cleaning, so she jumped in to handle the more advanced parts of the baking process. You know, like mixing pouring and being near the hot oven

Other than that I did the whole thing all by myself! Well, not really. She also prepared the pans, did the icing and cut the cake. But when it was done I did all the lettering on the cake. Well, not really. She had to fill in the heart because I was squeezing from the top of the tube not the bottom.

Other than that, it was really smooth. Well, not really. But happy birthday Diane! Hope you enjoy the cake you made for me to give to you for your birthday.
