Lou’s Anniversary Poem

Diane and I are celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary today and I tried to show my appreciation in a poem.

I truly believe that Diane could have chosen from any guy in the world and somehow chose me, so I like to frequently remind myself of that fact, so I thought I would put that theme in my poem. Here it is.

I took one look at you

And my heart started meltin'.

But why would you want me

When you have easily had Blake Shelton?

I tried to be so charming,

And make you laugh at things I say.

I better be real funny,

I'm no Matthew McConaughey.

Sometimes I buy you little gifts,

And pray that you don't hate 'em.

Cause I don't exactly have the moves,

Like that Channing Tatum.

I think you are the greatest,

Your smile is absolutely super.

Thanks for not waking up and

Wishing I was Bradley Cooper.

We got to know each other,

We took it step by step.

We had to do it that way,

You didn't exactly marry Johnny Depp.

You're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen,

You're loving, smart and kind.

If it makes you feel any better,

I look like Brad Pitt in my mind.

There are lots of other guys who could have made this poem, I just couldn't rhyme their names. Happy Anniversary to my beautiful wife Diane. I love you!
