If you've never heard of love locks, they are literally padlocks, usually adorned with names or initials and a date, that couples attach to something like a bridge, gate, or fence to symbolize their hearts locked together.

They've been spotted in places all over the globe, but this may be the first time I've ever seen them right here at the Jersey Shore!

If you walk up the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk to the Manasquan Inlet, there along the fence you'll spot them.

All kinds of locks, some looking more weathered than others. Some hand-painted, some engraved, some just plain...all symbols of love here at the Jersey Shore.

The real question is how long they'll be allowed to stay there. What often happens with love locks is that as more get added, the weight begins to damage the structure they're attached to, leading to their removal.

I kind of hope Point Beach embraces them...it's one more thing to love about the Jersey Shore!
