Maybe it's because I was born in Brooklyn and had this tasty treat from the time I was born, but I do love a good Egg Cream!

Recently a friend at work and I got on the topic of favorite things...and I mentioned to her that I wanted an Egg Cream.

Well, she went out and got me what some consider to be THE chocolate syrup to use in making this very special chocolate soda (there are different theories as to why they call it something with the word 'egg' in it, because that, to me, doesn't sound all that appetizing!)

So I made it myself and it came out as delicious as I remember! A little milk, some chocolate syrup, stirred up, then the added plain seltzer (be careful or it will overflow into a bubbly mess when you stir it all up) and voila!

Now I can't stop drinking them! In fairness to other syrups, I have also made this drink with other name brands of chocolate syrup and the drink still tastes great to me.

Maybe it's an acquired taste, and maybe you only order them at ice cream shoppes or restaurant, but if you've never had a proper Egg Cream....you should at least taste it once in your life. I guess you can get it vanilla, but I'm a chocolate girl all the way!
