Even after all of the destruction from Sandy, Manasquan is working its way toward being ready before Memorial Day.

Manasquan Borough Administrator Joe DeIorio says the projects they are working on should be completed by May 23rd.

The walkway may even be finished sooner than that...by May 15th (the asphalt top coat still has to be laid.)

Electrical cables are being installed this week, and light poles will go up starting May 13th.

The seasonal parking lot and beach lockers at Sea Watch beach will be ready soon, as well as mobile concessions at Sea Watch.

The replacement playground at Sea Watch beach is also getting underway.

Today begins the final sand sifting. Fencing will be installed around construction areas as well.

A special celebration is being planned for the official reopening of the beachfront on May 23, 2013, with a party afterward at Leggett's (limited tickets available from the tourism commission for $15.
