The Point will be representing Monmouth County on the Manasquan side, and our sister station 105.7 The Hawk will be holding it down for Ocean County on the Pt. Pleasant Beach side.

Teams of 25-plus will compete on each side of the inlet in Manasquan and Pt. Pleasant Beach. 400-feet of water will separate the two teams as they they test their strength using a massive 1,200-foot rope.

While the heats are taking place, enjoy an entire day of live music, drinks, food trucks and more on both sides on the Manasquan.

The Manasquan Inlet Inter Coastal Tug was designed to raise money for the Manasquan and Pt. Pleasant Beach Township Recreation Departments.

Manasquan vs. Pt. Pleasant Beach, Monmouth vs. Ocean. Mayors for both towns are excited and confident in their towns.

Manasquan Mayor Edward Donovan said in a press release:

The challenge is on! This is going to be a great event at a unique venue. Not only does the Manasquan River and Inlet divide Point Pleasant Beach and Manasquan, it also separates Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Let the games begin! Come to Manasquan to root us on!

Pt. Pleasant Beach Mayor Stephen Reid commented:

While Manasquan might be confident in their chances, we fully expect Point Pleasant Beach to come out ahead. This brand-new and exciting event should be a great addition to the fall calendar and we’re very much looking forward to a Point Pleasant Beach victory.
