So far, School Board members haven’t released the reasons why Superintendent Geraldine Margin, who’s served the district since 2007, was relieved of her duties and there’s no word on if the move is temporary or permanent.

According to the Manasquan-Belmar Patch.com, the School Board named Robert Mahon, Mayor of Avon-By-The-Sea and former Chief of the Ocean Township School District, to serve as Acting Superintendent. A meeting was held for parents at the Manasquan Elementary School Tuesday night.

The district educates over 1700 students from grades K-8 from eight sending districts that include Avon-by-the-Sea , Belmar, Bradley Beach, Brielle, Lake Como, Sea Girt, Spring Lake and Spring Lake Heights.
