Sometimes one Pet of the Week just isn't enough. This is one of those weeks...so it's time to meet our Point Pets of the Week!

This week is a special week with two very special cats. Player, the one with the thin white stripe on his nose , and Watcher, the one with the puffy white cheeks, came to the Monmouth County SPCA after being found under a picnic table. They are 5-months old.

Player, was born with paralysis of his hind legs...a condition called meningomyelocele.  He had a cyst in the spinal cord due to an opening in the vertebrae. In order to prevent the cyst from later bursting and causing a potentially fatal outcome, the cyst had to be surgically removed.

Thanks to an extremely generous outpouring of support, over $3,000 was raised for Player’s surgery. Dr. Glass at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital performed this life-saving procedure. Although he can’t move his hind legs, Player does not let this slow him down one bit. In fact, he lives up to his name and then some!

Watcher is careful and gentle with his brother. The brothers love to play tag and chase their toys all around. When they are tuckered out, they sleep like all other kittens do...in a pile, intertwined, hugging, and oblivious to the world around them.

Watcher and Player are indeed a very special pair. They are looking for a forever home together. Get all the information about them and all the places the Monmouth County SPCA will be in the upcoming days at their website.
