Friday night was the 22nd drawing in a row not to produce a jackpot winner matching 5 numbers and the Mega Ball.   New Jersey Lottery Director Carole Hedinger says tickets are selling at a rate of 7,000-8,000 tickets per minute in anticipation of the drawing

The jackpot has a cash value of $316 million. The odds of winning are 259 million-in-one.

Hedinger says there is a good chance the jackpot, already the second largest in Mega Millions history and the fourth largest in U.S. lottery history could grow before Tuesday night's drawing at 11:00 p.m. Tuesday night.

A ticket sold in Camden County for Friday's number was one of nine worth $1 million each for matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball.

If no one wins Tuesday night the jackpot will grow to $800 million Paula Otto, the Virginia Lottery’s executive director and Mega Millions’ lead director told CNN.
