The numbers drawn were: 11,19,24,33,51 and a Mega Ball of 7. The Mega Plier was 3. Mega Million's website reports there were two winning tickets sold in Florida and Maryland.

The final annuity value of the jackpot was $414 million. The Maryland winner bought the ticket at Lady's Liquor in La Plata located near Washington D.C. while the Florida ticket was purchased at a Sunoco convenience store on Florida's Space Coast in Merritt Island. Neither winner has come forward yet.

Eight third prize winning tickets worth $5,000 each were sold in New Jersey according to a statement from the New Jersey Lottery. There was over $1 million total in winning tickets sold in  New Jersey for Tuesday night's drawing in smaller prizes ranging from $1 to $150.

The jackpot is be the third largest ever offered in Mega Millions history and the sixth largest jackpot ever offered in the United States. Tonight's jackpot has a cash value of $224 million.

Judith Drucker of the New Jersey Lottery said $1.4 million worth of tickets have been sold since Saturday through Monday with over $650,000 in sales before 11:00am Tuesday.

New Jersey had four Mega Millions winners in 2013.

Drucker dismissed the notion that frequent large jackpots will hurt sales. "I've not met anyone personally that would be tired of winning $250, $300, $400 million.  The hope and the dream that someone could win that perhaps (amount) will remain and continue to keep our sales strong."

She said the revenue generated by sales of Mega Millions and all the lottery's games benefit a number of charitable organizations in New Jersey including veterans homes, colleges and universities, higher education scholarship programs and the Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf. "Everybody here in New Jersey plays and wins in one way or another."

Before Tuesday's drawing the game has not had a jackpot since January 3 when a $61 million jackpot was won in Tennessee.
