Men In Black 3 Finally Knocks The Avengers Out Of Top Box Office Spot

Men In Black 3 pulled in 70 million dollars over the long holiday weekend and has dethroned The Avengers as the top movie at the box office. The Avengers continues to plow through the record books though, and now has brought in over $500,000,00. It's the fastest movie to do so, accomplishing that in 23 days.

When I predicted last week that MIB 3 would take over at #1, I wasn't exactly going out on a limb. It had all the makings of a summer blockbuster, plus The Avengers had already spent three weeks at the top spot. The battle was a lot closer than I thought it would be. While MIB 3 was pullin in $70 million, The Avengers was still incredibly strong, grabbing another $47.9 million. It's now the fourth highest grossing picture of all time.

Battleship was third with $13.8 million and The Dictator was at #4 with $11. 8 million.
