Middletown leaders held a dedication ceremony at Anniversary Plaza on Friday to officially mark the spot where a time capsule was buried last year.

It's all part of the township's 350th Anniversary celebration.  The plaza, located at the Middletown Arts Center at 36 Church Street, also includes commemorative bricks, benches, and a plaque.  It's one of several projects planned by the Middletown 350 Committee.

"Our town of 67,000 has several centers, but <this> is Middletown's first," said Mayor Stephanie Murray.  "In fact, where we congregate today is not only one of the oldest continuously inhabited areas in all of New Jersey, but in America."

Personalized bricks can still be purchased by contacting the Middletown Arts Center at 732-671-4100.  A portion of the proceeds benefits the Middletown Arts Council.
