Middletown Man receives 14-year sentence for financial scheme

Christopher D. Biello, 43, of Middletown will spend 14-years in state prison with a 5-year period of parole ineligibility after admitting to deceiving and impersonating almost 18 clients by forging documents to obtain credit cards, loans and other documents.

Biello went by the name Christopher Sherman to get credit cards in the names of his victims, begin fraudulent loan attempts with their identities, among forged documents and was arrested following the length of a year-long probe.

He plead guilty in June to charges including one count of Second Degree Theft by Deception, Seven Counts of Third Degree Theft by Deception, Three Counts of Third Degree Impersonation, Four Counts of Third Degree Bad Checks, Two Counts of Third Degree Theft, One Count of Fourth Degree Forgery, One Count of Third Degree Theft of Services, and One Count of Third Degree Fraudulent Use of Credit Card.

Biello has to additionally pay a restitution fee of $409,331.04.
