Miley Cyrus ‘Twerking’ – Shocking or No Big Deal?

The world is buzzing about Miley Cyrus' twerk-tastic performance last night at the MTV Video Music Awards. In case you missed it, here it is.

Miley is all grown up, or is she? We have all come to expect a shocking "unplanned" event at the VMAs every year, but it seems to get more extreme annually.

During her performance, Miley was twerking. Twerking is defined as a dance move that involves a person shaking the hips in an up-and-down bouncing motion, causing the dancer to shake, "wobble" and "jiggle."

This isn't a new thing, twerking has been around since the early 90s. It has recently made a comeback as pop culture features it on grand scales more often. This YouTube twerking instruction video shows you the ins and outs of the dance and it has over 12 million views!

Many are saying that what Miley did at the awards ceremony last night was disgusting and disgraceful.

#pitchystripper...ouch. We're all fairly confident that this was a carefully orchestrated publicity stunt. If so, mission accomplished.
