More grant money is being given to some local charities. Thousands of dollars could be yours. Apply soon!

There are two new ways for some of you to apply for money to help fix up your home.

1. You may be one of 50 families in Monmouth and Ocean Counties who will get up to $5,000 dollars to repair your Sandy-damaged home. Jersey Rising in Eatontown is giving out $240,000 from the Robin Hood Foundation to help pay for mold remediation and replacement of walls, furnaces, and water heaters. Download the application at www.jerseyrising.org. The deadline is THIS MONDAY (April 15, 2013).

2. Brick Township families needing post-storm help to rebuild their homes may be eligible for up to $10,000 each. Rehabco, Catholic Charities, and Visitation Relief Center are giving the township $650,000 dollars for homeowners who meet specific income guidelines. Get details at Catholic Charities on Mantoloking Road or go to www.visitationchurch.com.

To be considered eligible for the program, the combined family income must not exceed the following limits, they are: 

Family of one $51,179, family of two $58,490, family of three $65,802, family of four $73,113, family of five $78,962, family of six $84,811, family of seven $90,660 and a family of eight $96,509.

Also, all applicants must prove that all other avenues of funding relief have been pursued and that the amount of funds available will achieve the full expectations of the program for re-occupancy or short-term support.

Visitation Relief Center and/or Catholic Charities will be responsible for the monetary support aspect of the program, and can be reached at 732-746-3456.  Both organizations are located at 721 Mantoloking Road in Brick.
