Monmouth County K9 and Keansburg 4th Graders Visit Lou and Liz
In honor of these elementary school kids who have raised money for the Sheriff's K9s and the Monmouth County SPCA, we brought the whole class to our morning show!
On this Teacher's Appreciation Day, it is wonderful to recognize Barbara Leary and her 4th grade class from Joseph C. Caruso Elementary School in Keansburg for their hard work in raising money for such worthy causes.
Mrs. Leary has spent the past two years teaching kids how to open a store, work hard in positions ranging from stock to cashier, promoting and marketing the store, and selling pet supplies and treats, all to learn how to raise money and then donate it to the community.
They have raised well over $4,000 to help buy bullet-proof vests for the K9 police dogs of the Monmouth County Sheriff's Department and for the needy animals at the Monmouth County SPCA.
The Monmouth County Sheriff brought in a police dog, Ari,(and his human partner!) so the kids could see in person how their fundraising is helping our community. Check out the video!
