Two years after Superstorm Sandy, the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office continues to focus on preparedness for future emergencies with several programs.

Among the ways the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office is preparing our community is an app that provides residents with emergency notifications and public safety information  right at their fingertips. The Monmouth County Sheriff's Office app is designed for Android and iOS platforms and can be downloaded for free.

Another program is STORM, which stands for Seniors Taking on Readiness Measures and was created as a result of Sandy. The program provides assistance to seniors in the event of an emergency or disaster, according to a Monmouth County Sheriff's Office press release.

There's also the Monmouth County CART (County Animal Response Team) was created. CART builds and supports a unifying partnership between governmental, not-for-profit organizations, animal industry, and volunteers in order to facilitate local animal disaster preparedness and response development.

For more information on these programs, please visit the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office website.
