This summer, 94.3 The Point and Irwin Cars in Freehold are teaming up to “Pay It Forward.” We’re visiting local non-profits and charities to spread the good word and lend a helping hand. Recently, we stopped by the Monmouth County SPCA in Eatontown.

Monmouth County SPCA's vision is to make New Jersey a place where every animal is treated with respect, kindness and love. Even though the animals in their care reside in state-of-the-art housing, what they really need is a loving home. We visited the Homeward Bound Adoption Center in Eatontown!

Any time spent outdoors is a great time for their dogs. It is so important that all of the animals at the Monmouth County SPCA get time to move around and play. I spent some time in one of the play areas with Snow White, who's currently in "Puppy Kindergarten" to learn how to sit, stay, look and touch.

A special thanks to Lisa Mulhearn and her leadership team for having us.

94.3 The Point and Matt Ryan are looking to help local charities this summer and we need your help!

Tell us about your local charity. If you’re chosen, Matt and the Point Crew will come to your organization and help out for a day. We’ll throw a Pay It Forward wrap party at Rella’s Tavern for all the involved charities and one group will receive $1,000 from Irwin Cars.

There's so much more to the Monmouth County SPCA!

The Vogel-SPCA Spay/Neuter Clinic provides low cost spaying and neutering for your pets.  They can offer this high quality care for your pet because our staff specializes in spay/neuter surgery. Spaying and neutering your pet has significant health benefits and will help reduce the terrible overpopulation of pets that results in so many homeless animals in the shelter.

You can bring your pet to our clinic to be microchipped for a small fee! Microchipping involves placing a very small chip under your pet’s skin. This chip contains your information, and this information is placed in the AKC database. If your pet is lost, a special scanner can be used to ‘read’ your pet’s chip and find out who he belongs to, so you can be notified. It is an excellent way to make sure pet and owner can be re-united!

You love your dog.  But, an untrained dog can be no fun. Does Fido jump on you? Drag you down the street when you try to walk him? Dog obedience training can make a world of difference in your pet. Just six short classes can transform your unruly beast into a well-behaved pet who knows how to sit, heel and stay.

At the Maureen O’Brien Cats and Dogs Thrift Store, you can find all kinds of good stuff and can donate items, too. All proceeds go to help the animals at the MCSPCA.
