I asked my friends on the Monmouth County News Facebook page to name the best Italian restaurant. Based on their suggestions, here is the top 10 along with some recent reviews!

    Lubrano's 36 - Middletown

The chicken parm was really good! The sauce is awesome! I got it with a side of vodka sauce and it was yummy. The bread was my favorite part and the oil! So delicious. Will come back again! It's hard to find really good Italian food, especially moving from New York finding good Italian food in New Jersey is tough lol!

Great food, great service, the real deal. Closest thing to a NYC dining experience down the shore.

I found this restaurant on Instagram with all the tempting food pictures I saw! I came her last weekend, and everything was just amazing! Atmosphere was very nice and the food was delicious. The chicken over polenta was outstanding!! The scallops over risotto also excellent! I finished with the ricotta cheesecake out of this world! Andrew my server was also very attentive and helpful. I'll be back soon!

    Anjelica's - Sea Bright

Went there for the first time Thursday. From the moment we were seated through the entire meal, service was excellent. Had the veal piccata which was excellent. We split a pasta entree for our starter and that was excellent as well. This will be a regular dining spot for me.

We had a party of 12 ... lots of delicious apps .. polenta, meatballs, clams, mussels, calamari, wings, and all delicious!! Entrees came out at the same time ... Filet Mignon that was so tender you didn't need a knife to cut it. The Sunday Gravy was to die for... just like Mama used to make. The Eggplant parm was enough for three people. Chilean seabass was done to perfection. Then came desserts ... oh my .. scrumptious tiramisu.
Staff was very attentive ... great ambiance. Definitely recommend Brando's...

I love to eat and Patrizia's did not disappoint. The calamari and vogole were superb. The pizza was perfectly cooked. The catfish with broccoli rabe was outstanding. But wait, the deserts were excellent. I recommend it.

The food here is amazing! The owner Ron is a great guy! He always treats us like family and always accommodates us with our 3 kids. He takes our daughter Sophia to see the kitchen every time we come dine, she's been visisting the kitchen since she was 8 months old , she's 2 years old now. We love everything on the menu. The veal meatballs are to die for. The steak is the best in the area. We were so happy to find a good restaurant with good steak near us. I Highly recommend Christine's to everyone! No disappointments.

    Tuzzio's - Long Branch

Been frequenting Tuzzios for 13 years. They have the best red sauce! It's a family-style restaurant that's been around 50 years and counting. It's like going back in time...wouldn't change a thing. Thanks Joe, Eddie, and all the staff!
