Last week, we spoke with Ed Jarrett, whose Sandy Castle just broke the Guinness World Record for tallest sand castle. It was a proud moment for Ed and for all of us on the Jersey Shore.

It got me thinking about other world records that call the Garden State home, and there are several. One involves packing bubbles and a lot of students.

New Jersey is home to the Guinness World Record for most people popping bubble wrap simultaneously. It happened in January 2013, when Sealed Air Corporation teamed up with 366 students from Hawthorne High School to celebrate "Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day".

The event also earned the record for worldrecordacademy.com. According to an article on that website, Bubble Wrap was invented in Hawthorne, NJ in 1960.

You had to know that something as awesome as Bubble Wrap had to come from New Jersey, right?
