If you've ever bought a co-worker a cup of coffee, this may have happened to you. It happened to me once and I don't want it to happen again. Welcome to Coffee-gate.

A few years back, I decided that since I was stopping anyway, I would be a nice guy and pick up a cup of coffee for Liz as well. I wound up doing it every day, and in the back of my head I wondered, when will she say, "Hey, it's my turn".

I'm glad I didn't hold my breath. The streak of me buying the coffee lasted about a year, or 259 cups of coffee, not that I counted. It all ended at a live broadcast just before Thanksgiving, when Liz actually stopped for a cup for herself and didn't get me one. What?!?

Fast forward to yesterday, when Liz saw me grabbing my keys, assumed I was going to the coffee shop and blurted out, "I'll have a cup"!. Again I say, What?!? My first thought was that I'm not starting this again. Despite my very understandable gut reaction, I was a nice guy and got Liz a cup of coffee. Her response...I'll get you one Friday, as long as you give me the money Thursday.

That's what she said, No embellishment, no exaggeration. You can't make it up. You just can't make this stuff up.
