My boys took me to some of our favorite places, including the new Belmar Boardwalk!

It was a great Mother's Day in every way, especially knowing that Belmar's Ocean Avenue and boardwalk are open and recovered from Sandy.

It was wonderful for the boys and I to spend the afternoon at a place where they grew up.

First we stopped to see our old beach house that was completely devastated by the flooding from the hurricane. Still, we stood on the porch and looked out over the water, remembering wonderful times they had there in their little lives.

Then we went to Strollo's for peanut butter (me) and blue raspberry (Benj) ices....it's the way we always start off the summer season.

And we were so excited to see the gorgeous new boardwalk and be able to eat pizza overlooking the ocean at a place the boys have been going to since they could walk, that we ended up spending a good part of the day enjoying the sunshine and the feel of summer coming up in Belmar.

It was a glorious day and I am so happy that Bemar is back!

The railing and lighting still have to go up, but it's only a matter of days before you will see that boardwalk PACKED!!!
