NEPTUNE – The Neptune Township Office of Emergency Management along with multiple other agencies responded to a residential structure fire on Friday morning.

Emergency personnel responded to the home on Myrtle Avenue just after 9:00am on Friday morning and upon arrival they observed heavy smoke and flames coming from all sides of residence.

All of the homes’ occupants had safely evacuated prior to first responders arriving.

The Neptune Township Fire Department aided by the Asbury Park Fire Department began operating to bring the fire under control and mutual aid was requested from the South Wall Fire Company and Wayside Fire Company.

After about 45 minutes from the first unit(s) responding, the blaze was under control.

Township Police along with the Officer of Emergency Management, Asbury Park Police, assisted at the scene.

American Red Cross in Greater New York also responded to the scene to help the displaced residents.

No injuries have been reported.

The Monmouth County Fire Marshall’s Office is handling the investigation into the cause of the fire.
