Reuss had tinkered with the song for months, intending it for fun.'s third album. It's inspired by his relationship with fashion designer Charlotte Ronson and his growing career as a songwriter away from the grind of fronting a famous rock band. Nate realized the lyrics were so personal it should be his first release under his own name.

"It felt so believable; I was saying what I was thinking," he told Rolling Stone. "This is the first time I've been comfortable in my own skin, and it's with someone who's comfortable in their own skin. The reason I'm making a solo album is because it's the first time."

Nate has such a recognizable voice that if I didn't tell you this was a Fun. song, you'd never know the difference. It's got intense production, deep lyrics and Ruess' iconic voice.
