What happens to people when they pull into a parking lot? It's like they lose every driving skill they ever had.

It can happen in any lot, but I recently experienced some of the worst of the worst driving in a supermarket parking lot. Everyone pulls in like there's only one loaf of bread left on the planet, and everyone pulls out like they just robbed the place. Just getting into the lot is a major accomplishment.

Once you're in the lot, the fun begins. Now you get to see 7 people who can't see each other trying to back out into basically a one lane road at the same time trying to head in opposite directions. What could possibly go wrong?

Throw into that scenario 20 people looking down and texting while pushing a shopping cart and not even looking up. Add a few rogue shopping carts left behind in the middle of otherwise perfectly empty parking spots and you have the recipe for frustration and anger and you haven't even gotten out of the car yet.

Then's there's the guy who thinks it's perfectly fine to wait in the middle of the road while some poor shopper has just arrived at their car with a full cart. This guy thinks it's just fine to let traffic build behind him while he's putting the pressure on the person loading the car to throw everything in the car and have to race out of the spot he has decided is his. Must be nice being the only guy on the planet, right?

Other than that parking lot driving isn't that bad.
