In a model that looks very similar to Pier Village in Long Branch, Belmar has just approved the plans for the construction of residences and stores in downtown Belmar.

According to APP, developers are planning on calling the Belmar addition 'Fifth Avenue Flats.'  86 apartments and seven new stores will reportedly be a part of the 9,000-square-foot 3-story development.

It is said that there will be 42 parking spaces in a separate lot, but 16 spaces will be taken up along 5th and Main Street.

Phase II of this big project is expected to happen at 707 10th Avenue. What's going there? 'Plaza Residences.' Developers say to expect a four-story building with 60 apartments. Six of the units will be affordable housing.
