Here are some of the family friendly Halloween events happening in Monmouth and Ocean Counties:

LAKEWOOD: “Spooktacular” 5-7 p.m.; Georgian Court University, Casino Building, 900 Lakewood Road; activities include a ghost walk, haunted house, hayrides, storytelling, and refreshments. Guests will also be able to trick or treat on the first floor of Maria Hall This is a drug and alcohol free event that is open to the public, and children of all ages are welcome to take part in the celebration. Costumes are not mandatory but welcomed.

Admission is a donation of nonperishable canned foods. All contributions benefit Catholic Charities, and will be distributed in the Lakewood area to help low-income families.

FRIDAY

BEACH HAVEN: Parade, 5:45 p.m.; Veterans Bicentennial Park, Engleside and Beach avenues; participants will march to the Beach Haven School, Seventh Street and Bay Avenue; 609-492-7411.

MANCHESTER: Hayride, 7-9 p.m.; Manchester Township High School, 101 S. Colonial Drive; rain date Saturday; $2 per person; 732-657-8121.

SATURDAY

LAKEHURST: Parade, 11 a.m.; Lakehurst Post Office, Brown Avenue; participants will march to Lake Horicon where costumes will be judged and refreshments served; the residential decorating contest will be judged the week of Oct. 24-31; 732-657-4141.

TUCKERTON: Children’s Parade, 2 p.m.; Tuckerton Seaport, 120 West Main St.; 609-296-8868.

SUNDAY

BAY HEAD: Parade, 11:30 a.m.; Mount Street and Lake Avenue; in case of rain, assemble at the Fire House, 81 Bridge Ave.; 732-892-0574.

BRICK: Dance, 1-4 p.m.; Old Guard Building, 170 Duchess Lane; dress in costume; hot dogs and soda will be sold; $8; 732-899-2310.

PLUMSTED TOWNSHIP: Fall Festival, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; North Main and Main streets, New Egypt; face painting, pony rides, inflatable rides, and a kids Ferris wheel; free admission, $6 per child for unlimited activities; 609-758-7539.

POINT PLEASANT: Parade, 1-3 p.m.; Chamber of Commerce, 2810 Bridge Ave.; individuals, groups, families, floats, and pets are invited to march; register on the day of the parade; 732-295-8850.

MONDAY

JACKSON: Safe-trick-or-treat; 1-4 p.m.; Municipal Building, 95 W. Veterans Highway; open to pre-school age children and their parents; free.

LAKEWOOD: Face and pumpkin painting, 5-6 p.m.; costume parade and contest for children ages 10 and younger, 6 p.m.; Lakewood Town Square, Clifton Avenue and Third Street; Best Costume certificates for first, second, and third place will be awarded to children in five age groups: children ages 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10.
