As the Jersey Shore continues to recover from our early January blizzard, our attention now shifts to the next potential weather problem. Freezing rain.

First, the good news. Temperatures will be warmer today, with highs expected to be in the 30's. Now the bad news. We have a chance for freezing rain this afternoon that could really affect the afternoon commute, according to Meteorologist Dan Zarrow.

Here's what you need to know for today's weather at the Jersey Shore...

Winter Weather Advisory. The Advisory s in effect in our area from this afternoon through this evening.

The details and timing. A wintry mix is expected to arrive this afternoon, and even though the daytime high could reach 35, there is a real chance the mix could leave us with a glaze of ice. The showers wrap up by tonight.

The good news. By tomorrow temperatures will be well above freezing, with temperatures expected to peak in the 40's, so the harsh cold spell for the Jersey Shore will finally come to an end.

So, we finally have a forecast that doesn't include the words wind chill, so that's something, right? And here's some more encouraging news. In a mere 137 days. Memorial Day weekend will be kicking off at the Jersey Shore. The countdown is on!
