Nicki Minaj may be headed to the White House! Are we going to have a Harajuku Barbie president? Not quite.

Minaj may speak out about health care reform. When actress Yvette Wilson passed away from a battle with cervical cancer, Nicki took to Twitter to rant about how unfair it was that insurance issues got in the way of Wilson receiving proper treatment for her illness. “What’s sad is that when Yvette was bringing home the bacon, the gov’t was probably taking millions. On her deathbed though, #Nowheretobefound,” she tweeted. “That should be a God given right! Even with Obama Care, too much involved. Just give FREE health care to all. @BarackObama what can we do?”

BET reports that prior to Wilson’s death, a friend of the actress, Jeffrey Pittle, set up a donation site to fundraise for Wilson’s medical bills. When she passed, the site had reached roughly 30 percent of its $50,000 goal.

Minaj’s tweets got the attention of Questlove of the Roots, who replied, “@NICKIMINAJ I personally know that the White House administration would LOVE for you to use ur tweet power to raise health care awareness.” He added, “@NICKIMINAJ seriously DM me, they need that energy you conveyed last night about Yvette Wilson’s health crisis! You can help!”

It remains to be seen whether Minaj will head to Capitol Hill, but Barbz and health care reform supporters are pushing for the ‘Starships’ rapper to take a stand. As anyone familiar with her Summer Jam pullout knows, that’s one thing Minaj is great at: standing up for her convictions.
