Closing out this summer, there's a new flavor in New Jersey to intrigue your palate.

Forget the pumpkin spice, which now has invaded everything from coffee to cookies. I'm not even talking about Starbucks' new spicy chocolate concoction.

The folks at Flying Fish Brewing have debuted a pre-fall beer that's "just so Jersey" — Pork Roll Porter. It's among three in the first release of Exit Series beers in time to celebrate the brewery's 20th anniversary. The porter represents Trenton as Exit 7.

And real pork roll was used in creating it.

There's also the lighter pour, Exit 5 Pinelands Sour Forage Ale. The South Jersey brew features notes of pine needles, goldenrod and wintergreen.

Exit 14 Imperial Pilsner is  a tribute to a North Jersey landmark. You know that giant neon eagle atop a pretty big brewery on the Newark-Elizabeth border? It's guided many a Jersey resident home.

One of our resident NJ craft beer lovers has a fall list brewing  — but for now, maybe hunt down this porter and share your impression with a comment below. Or tweet us, @ProudJersey and @NJ1015.
