Summer 2014 has been a "banner season for the Shore," featuring great weather almost every weekend, "healthy, accessible" beaches and continued improvements, Gov. Chris Christie told a group  of onlookers in Asbury Park Friday.

"The beaches are crowded and busy and great events are being held throughout the shore," Christie said, noting that beach badge sales are up up 45% in Asbury Park this year.

In his address, he touted the work that's been done by the state and the Army Corps to rebuild since Sandy, and the $1.2 billion in legislation signed just last week for projects statewide, including "$355 milion that will provide resiliency to our infrastructure."
