The Cherry Hill Mall features quite the elaborate Santa display, with a virtual sleigh ride and singing elves joining the bearded main attraction. But unlike in years past, when the attraction was free, families wishing to see Santa would have to pay a cover charge.

The fee of between $35 and $50, entitled families to a photo or video footage of the visit. Understandably, irate parents took to Facebook in droves.

Cherry Hill Mall you are disgusting trying to make money off the children's tradition of seeing Santa Claus!! I don't...

Shame on you for not allowing children to see Santa and charging $35 to $50 for pictures. Bad marketing move........

Due to this backlash, The Cherry Hill Mall released a statement Monday saying visits to its Adventure to Santa would be free of charge to all children this holiday season.
