He says, “its very good due to the wake of the Aurora shootings that people are vigilant and aware of their surroundings.”

In Bergen County a theater at the Edgewater Multiplex was evacuated when moviegoers noticed strange activity around an emergency exit.

Police Sgt. Steven Titus tells The Star-Ledger a  caller to 911 said a male stood up about 90 minutes into the movie, opened an emergency exit, spoke to someone outside and returned to his seat.

When that person couldn’t be found police were called. They stopped the movie, turned on the house lights. and asked that person to come forward. None of the 100 people watching the movie owned up so the theater was evacuated and the screening cancelled.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a strong advocate of gun control, told CNN’s Piers Morgan on Monday night that police officers walk off the job until lawmakers begin to enact legislation.

“I don’t understand why the police officers across his country don’t stand up collectively and say, ‘We’re going to go on strike. We’re not going to protect you unless you, the public, through your legislature, do what’s required to keep us safe,” Bloomberg said on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight.”
