NJ Transit's North Jersey Coast Line has resumed full service following a fatal early morning incident near the Hazlet station.

NJ Transit is also cross-honoring with bus service along the NJCL.

NJ Transit spokesman William Smith says a train headed for New York hit a man west of the Hazlet Station just before 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. The 25 passengers aboard the train were taken by bus to the Matawan-Aberdeen Station and placed on another train. Service across the entire line had been suspended as police responded to the scene.

The Monmouth County Police, Fire & EMS Facebook page reports a pedestrian was struck at the Centerville Road rail crossing in Holmdel which is not far from the Hazlet station.
