No End Of ‘Jersey Shore’ In Sight

I will open this with a disclaimer that I do regularly watch the MTV hit series, “Jersey Shore.”

Despite the popularity and entertainment value of the show, I will be the first to admit that I thought by now the train would have come off the rails.  Whether it was some of the characters self-destructing, the content getting stale, or people growing tired of the act, I definitely did not believe this show with this cast had this kind of shelf life.

And I was very wrong.

Ratings continue to roll in for the show with no let-up.  The characters are constantly getting buzz in the tabloids and dirtsheets.  And even more amazingly, the empire keeps expanding.

Last week, after being snubbed by Hoboken for a spin-off featuring Snooki and J-Woww, Jersey City welcomed the two with open arms.

That show will begin filming later this month in the city section near the Grove Street Path Station.  Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy believe the show is an opportunity to promote the city.

Yesterday, more good fortunes came for the cast of the show.  DJ Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio was announced as a resident DJ this year at the Pool at Harrah’s in Atlantic City.  His debut is scheduled for March 31 with another on April 28.  A Harrah’s spokeswoman says the casino hopes to have him perform at least 9 times during the year.  The residency label prohibits him from performing anywhere else in the city.

It is shocking to still see the show this viable in 2012, following a debut in 2009.  My reason for getting into the show was the proximity of its filming to my hometown of Toms River, and to see exactly what would take place.  Yes, the vast majority is ridiculous, but it is still very entertaining.

It appears that the masses across the country still enjoy the show a great amount, too.

While no set plans have been announced for the next seasons of the regular version of the show, you can bet that the stars will continue to cash in on every revenue stream based off the popularity.

And you can probably bank on the cast and crew descending once again this summer on Seaside Heights.

Love it or hate it, there is no end in sight for “Jersey Shore.”
