One of the weirdest little-known details of Osama bin Laden’s life was that he had a serious thing for Whitney Houston. The al-Qaeda terrorist spoke of his “paramount desire” for the singer and said he would even break his “color rule” to have her.

The somewhat-disturbing information came courtesy of Kola Boof, who claimed to have been held as a slave by bin Laden in the ’90s. In a 2006 piece for Harper’s Bazaar, she said of bin Laden, “He said that he had a paramount desire for Whitney Houston. He spoke of someday spending vast amounts of money to go to America and try to arrange a meeting with the superstar.”

Bin Laden had a watchful eye on Houston’s husband, Bobby Brown. Boof continued, “Whitney Houston’s name was the one that would be mentioned constantly. How beautiful she was, what a nice smile she has, how truly Islamic she is but is just brainwashed by American culture and by her husband Bobby Brown, whom Osama talked about having killed, as if it were normal to have women’s husbands killed.”

Bin Laden apparently had delusional plans to bring Whitney to Afghanistan. “He said he wanted to give Whitney Houston a mansion that he owned in a suburb of Khartoum,” Koof added. “He explained to me that to possess Whitney he would be willing to break his color rule and make her one of his wives.”
