If you’re not attending the Royal Wedding this weekend we’ve got some great alternatives… no fascinators required.

Belmar Seafood Festival, Friday, May 18th through Sunday, May 20th at Silver Lake Park at 5th and Ocean Avenues in Belmar.  Enjoy all kinds of seafood, a beer and wine garden, activities for the kids, live music and more. 

This Friday, kicking off at 3 PM it’s the 4th Annual Middletown High School South Food Truck Festival, with live music, all kinds of tasty treats, activities, vendors and more… basically fun for the whole community, going on until 8:30 PM.

Friday night, Eyes First Ave hosts the Maui Jim Luau at the BeachWalk in Sea Bright 5- 9 PM.  Free admission, a chance to win some cool prizes, drink specials and live music.

Saturday, kicking off at noon, the Central Jersey Irish Festival happens in downtown Spring Lake with Irish food, live music, an adult beverage tent, dancing, kid’s activities, shopping specials and more.

Saturday, the Brick Township Recreation Department is taking part in the National Kids to Park Day, with a full day of activities planned including a scavenger hunt, lunch at Windward Beach, and other fun activities planned along the route.  The bus leaves Civic Plaza at 10 AM.

Saturday, Keansburg Recreation presents A Taste of Spring: Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival with food trucks, a beer garden, battle of the bands, a bounce house, face painting, sand art and more.  Free admission, Baywalk East, 2 – 8 PM

The 7th Annual Mary’s by the Sea Walk-a-thon happens Saturday at Ocean Avenue and Ocean Pathway in Ocean Grove.  Help women with cancer heal mind, soul and body. Since beginning their mission in 2009 Mary’s by the Sea has supported over 8,000 women, at no cost to the guest, and now you can help. This weekend is New Jersey Natural Gas and New Jersey Natural Resources 15th Annual Ocean Fun Days, Saturday and Sunday starting at 11 AM.  Saturday at Island Beach State Park and Sunday at the NJ Sea Grant Consortium in Sandy Hook.  Celebrate our environment and the wonders of the Jersey shore with hands on exhibits, classes, nature tours and children’s activities.  Admission is free. NJ State Chili Cook Off happens on Washing Street in Toms River on Saturday, Enjoy live entertainment, food vendors, kids rides, beer and a wine garden provided by Toms River Volunteer Fire Co #1, and of course Chili!  Event starts at 11 AM.

Spring Festival and Market happens at the Historic Village at Allaire, Saturday. Local artists will be demonstrating their work An auction at the General Store, to include fresh flowers and other spring items, will take place at 1 pm. General Store, Bakery, and Museum Gift Shop will be open throughout the day.  Event starts at 11 AM.

Sunday it’s the Bahrs 5 Mile Run and Clam Bake! A challenging 5 mile run into the Highlands, followed by a deck party clam bake for all of the runners.  Event starts at 9.

Pony Up for Kids, Sunday at Monmouth Park. Bring your kids for a fun event of pony rides, crafts, bounce house, food and more in our two track-side private picnic areas. Help raise money for collaborative research funding for pediatric brain tumors with the Kortney Rose Foundation.
