Asbury Park Oysterfest 2012 looks delicious!

Start with fresh seafood and other culinary delights, add a dash of music and fun for the whole family, and you have a recipe for an awesome weekend at the Jersey Shore.

The 3-day event, Sept. 7th - 9th, features oysters, seafood festival fare, and fun. This year's event will be held at the east end of Cookman Ave that links the downtown with the waterfront and boardwalk. There will be over 20 food vendors throughout the festival, more than 60 craft vendors offering great gifts and treasures for sale, and over 20 bands for your entertainment.

Friday night (5 - 8 p.m.) enjoy FREE admission and discounts on food and beverages. A celebrity dunk tank will feature Mayor Ed Johnson and others. Funds raised will benefit the Asbury Park Mayor's Ball Foundation Scholarship program. Live vacation music performed by Tropical Impulse.

Saturday's Oysterfest (Noon - 10 p.m.) includes the annaul Citywide Sidewalk Sale from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Cookman Avenue featuring treasures from local retailers.

On Sunday (Noon - 6 p.m.), the Oysterfest main stage will start the day with soulful artists from Asbury's historic west side.

A Scavenger Hunt will also take place Saturday and Sunday. Oysterfest guests can pick up an AP Scavenger Hunt Sheet at the Chamber Visitor Trailer at the festival. Free to enter, scavenger hunters can visit 10 local businesses on Saturday or Sunday to uncover a secret word at each. Fans that collect the day's 10 secret words and submit their completed sheet to the Chamber have a chance to win a 2013 season beach badge plus a $10 smart card for parking in Asbury Park. Two winners will be chosen each day.

There is a $5 entry fee to Oysterfest for adults.  Admission is free for kids 12 and under. There will also be activities and rides for kids of all ages.
