A Wintry Saturday In New Jersey [VIDEO/PICTURES]

Snow and sleet have stopped falling in most of New Jersey and the clean up has started.

But authorities say drivers still need to be extra cautious because many roads remain slick and slippery.

Road crews have been salting and plowing roads since midnight, as the wintry mix of snow, rain, sleet and freezing rain created treacherous travel conditions in some areas.

Officials say few accidents had been reported as of 4 p.m. But speed limits remain reduced on some major highways, including the New Jersey Turnpike, and many secondary roads remain untreated.

No storm-related delays were reported at Newark Liberty Airport. But LaGuardia and JFK airports were reporting some disruptions.

North Jersey has seen 3 to 8 inches of snow, with 1 to 2 inches in central areas. Southern areas saw mostly rain.

Snowfall amounts around New Jersey, as of 7 p.m. Saturday:
