I have stacks of papers all over my house...how the heck does this stuff pile up so fast?

I decided yesterday that I was going to take one of the four bins full of papers I have, spread it all out on the living room floor, and see how much I could get rid of.

It's one of those chores I have put off for about two years, since the last time I did it. It amazes me how much stuff you feel you have to save, only to finally go through it and realize you can rip up at least 90% of it.

At the time you 'acquire' papers...whether through the mail, printed office memos, business cards, flyers, coupons, receipts, etc. etc., you just never know where to put them, but you must save them because you KNOW you will need them again.

Where's your spot? I have a giant box in my kitchen pantry, just so that I can keep the papers off of my kitchen table. Then I have a giant box in my closet, and another giant box under my bed. Once I realized these papers were taking over my life, I figured I'd at least tackle one. But I was so stressed just taking the two hours that it took for that one box, I have no idea when I'll make the time to do the other two.

But it certainly was worth it. I have a feeling of accomplishment, a 'lighter load' to carry, and...more room for the next two years' worth of papers that will surely pile up despite my goal of throwing stuff out as it comes in!
