Pleasantville woman picked up for prostitution in Monmouth’s Ocean Township

A Pleasantville woman was arrested Thursday night for allegedly engaging in prostitution in Monmouth's Ocean Township in the area of Sunset Avenue around 10 pm.

Detectives with the department were conducting an investigation regarding possible prostitution in the area.

A motor vehicle stop just after 10 pm on Thursday led to the arrest of 30-year old Lativa Mejias, who also had a warrant out for her arrest, for allegedly engaging in prostitution.

Mejias was released on a criminal summons in Ocean Township and on her own recognizance by the Borough of Shrewsbury Municipal Court pending a future days in court.
