Jackson Police have arrested one suspect with more yet to be identified following a shoplifting incident at the Polo Ralph Lauren store in the outlets on Saturday December 8 around 5:49 pm.

The suspects reportedly had all hopped in a silver Nissan, floored it and took off down Cassville Road.

The responding Jackson Police Officer then heard the revving of a car engine and screeching tires as he drove towards Cassville Road where he spotted the Nissan.

A police chase ensued with the Nissan driving aggressively with cars swerving to avoid being hit.

As the officer caught up with the vehicle and attempted a motor vehicle stop near the intersection of Green Tree Drive, the Nissan increased its speed as it was continued to be operated in a reckless manner, crossing over double yellow lines.

The pursuit was called off police say at that time due to the heavy traffic conditions as the vehicle began to pull away from the patrol car.

A short time later, Jackson Police Officer observed the Nissan on West Veterans Highway as it approached him in the opposite lane at 80 miles per hour in a 50 mph zone.

Two officers then tried to stop the vehicle on West Veterans Highway as it traveled at a high speed and again drove over a double yellow line to pass other traffic.

As the Nissan turned onto East Veterans Highway, the officers terminated the pursuit again.

An Officer then responded to the Jackson Premium Outlets where he spoke with security about the shoplifting at the Polo Ralph Lauren store.

As the investigation continue, the driver of the vehicle was identified and Lakewood Police were able to locate him and his car on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Lakewood.

Jackson Police Officers responded to the scene and took the driver, Dante Holly, 28, of Lakewood into custody and seized the vehicle for a search warrant application.

He was charged with eluding/resisting arrest, speeding, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, improper passing and failure to signal.

Holly was processed and later lodged in the Ocean County Jail.

Jackson Police say the investigation is ongoing and additional complaints may be signed as it proceeds and other suspects involved in this incident are identified.
