Port Authority police officer, 24, dies following one-car crash

A 24-year-old Wall Township woman who worked as an officer at Newark Liberty International Airport died as a result of injuries sustained in a one-car crash on Feb. 6, according to NJ Advance Media.

Officer Elise Bastardo died Friday as a result of the crash, which occurred last week on Archertown Road when her 2015 Jeep ran off the road, the article states. The vehicle then struck a utility pole and overturned, Plumsted police Cpl. Jason Reilly told NJ Advance Media.

No additional details regarding the cause of the accident have been released.
