If Labor Day is supposed to be the unofficial end of summer, someone forgot to cc the weather on that email.

This work week started with a scorcher and today's weather will even be hotter and more uncomfortable. as a matter of fact, this could be a record breaking day for heat at the Jersey Shore.

Meteorologist Dan Zarrow did some research and says the record at the "Freehold-Marlboro" weather station is 92, set in 2010.  The record at the "Long Branch-Oakhurst" station is 96, set way back in 1915.

His forecast for today's is 88, so we'll likely end up just shy of the record highs.  However, the humidity will be incredibly oppressive today, so heat index values will likely make it feel like the mid to upper 90s,

The good news is after tomorrow's (Thursday's) storms, it will cool off considerably with a high expected to only be around 80.
