When weight trainers say they are juicing, people automatically think they are using steroids or some other performance-enhancing drug. Natural weight trainers and bodybuilders achieve their desired muscle building goals through a strategic diet plan, proper training and rest. There are many benefits to the natural approach, including lower cholesterol, increased bone strength, and heart health.  Here’s what I call the Power House Juice of all juices. Ingredients include:

  • Dandelion
  • Ginger root
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Apple
  • Lemon
  • Beets
  • Garlic

There are so many health benefits to my health-conscious concoction. Dandelion (high in antioxidants) is packed with essentials such as calcium and Vitamin K, which you need for stronger bones. The anti-inflammatory effects of ginger can reduce muscle pain and soreness and may also lower cholesterol levels. Among the many benefits of carrots, they boost the immune system and protect cardiovascular health. Celery is packed with minerals including calcium, copper, potassium, and zinc. The antioxidant vegetable helps to detoxify the body and improve heart health. “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” because it lowers the level of bad cholesterol. Lemons promote hydration, which should be every weight trainer’s priority. Lemons are also high in Vitamin C and fiber. Beets might make your cutting board look like a crime scene, but they boost athletic performance due to the dietary nitrates, which produce energy in your cells. The medicinal benefits of garlic are astounding. For the athlete, garlic helps with exercise performance by reducing exercise fatigue.
