The numbers drawn Wednesday night were: 01 17 35 49 54 and a Power ball of  34. The Power Play is  3X. The jackpot rose to $425 million just before the drawing.

Lottery officials say one ticket, sold in California, has matched all the winning numbers.

The multi-state lottery has gone without a jackpot winner since Christmas Day, when a $71 million jackpot was won in Arkansas. Wednesday night's jackpot is the sixth largest in U.S. lottery history and has an annuity value of $227.8 million.

New Jersey Lottery spokeswoman Judith Drucker tells Townsquare Media that $2.4 million worth of Powerball tickets have been sold in New Jersey as of 3 p.m. Sales were highest between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. with 442,000 tickets sold.

The $400 million jackpot is the latest in a line of large prizes for Powerball and sister game Mega Millions as the result of changes designed to create bigger jackpots. The odds of winning a jackpot are 1-in-175 million. Three winning Powerball jackpot tickets were sold in New Jersey in 2013.

The drawing is scheduled for 11 p.m. on New York's WLNY and the CW Philly 57.
