Last year Asbury Park made the list, this year it's one of our favorite Ocean County beach towns.

Each year Budget Travel reveals its list of the 10 Coolest Small Towns in all of America...and this year Point Pleasant Beach made the top ten!

This list celebrates unique towns that go beyond the usual things you find in a town. This year the editors, writers, photographers and videographers went in search of the coolest of the cool towns with a population under 20,000.

They looked for cutting-edge cuisine, natural beauty, a vibrant community spirit, and cultural diversity.

And Point Pleasant Beach was the only town in NJ to get this great honor, sharing the top ten with some of the other most well-loved vacation spots on your bucket list, including Sonoma, CA, Durango, CO, Jackson Hole, WY, Sedona, AZ, and Gatlinburg, TN. That is quite the honor!

Here's how the survey describes Point Pleasant Beach:

"An awesome beach and boardwalk with a family-friendly vibe. The star attraction in summer is Jenkinson's, with rides, exceptional food (think northeast classics like sausage & peppers on a roll, deep-fried powdered zeppole, and the finest hand-shaken lemonade this travel editor has ever tasted,) an array of carnival games, a vintage carousel, and even an aquarium. Visitors are often surprised that Point Pleasant Beach's downtown is also one of the coolest antiques districts, with unique stores, quiet coffee shops, friendly locals, and upscale dining for when you've finally had your fill of boardwalk fare. Splurge a little on a perfect summer lodging like the White Sands, with beach access, an outdoor pool, and an on-site restaurant."
