Pt. Pleasant Woman Arrested for Assault By Auto

A Pt. Pleasant couple’s argument turns physical while driving on Rt. 70 in Brick Friday morning.

Brick police say 20 year old Katherine Gatson is being charged with assault by auto, as well as reckless and careless driving, after a domestic dispute with her boyfriend at the intersection of Rt. 70 and Herbertsville Rd.

Gatson  was driving her 2006 Honda Civic when 23 year old Vito Poss allegedly pulled the emergency brake, got out of the car, and refused to get back in.

Police tell us Gatson then drove the vehicle into the back of Poss causing him to break the windshield.

Poss complained about lower back pain and refused to be transported to a hospital.  Gatson had no visible injuries.

Gatson’s bail was set at $2,500 with no 10% option.
