Apparently, the state we call home isn't exactly the most fun state in America. As a matter of fact, New Jersey doesn't even make the top 25.

According to a report at Wallet Hub, New Jersey is the 27th most fun state in the U.S. I'm guessing that's not exactly something the tourism board is going to want to put on their website.

So exactly what defines fun in this research? Well, let's start by being a little more specific on the topic. The question here is which states are the most fun to visit, and that makes me question these findings even more.

The Jersey Shore is one of the top vacation destinations in the area. We have amazing beaches, boardwalks, people, restaurants and landmarks, so what exactly is not fun about the Garden State?

The report ranks New Jersey 27th in "Entertainment & Recreation" and 32nd in "Night Life". Can that really be right? And we are ranked 46th for "variety of arts, entertainment and recreational establishments".

So, if you're looking for a fun state, according to this report, New Jersey is not the place for you. You'd be better off in Missouri, Wisconsin or Michigan.

And if those states are not to your liking for some reason, Louisiana, South Dakota and Oklahoma are apparently more fun than we are, too.
